Vegan staples

Starting out on a vegan diet is daunting. Whether you’re doing it as a short challenge, or long term. In addition to vegetables and fruits, here’s a few items I’ve found to be must-haves


  1. Beans, peas and legumes. These are a source of protein and fiber. What’s also great is they are kind to your budget. These can be bought dry and uncooked or you can buy the canned ones.

2. Nutritional yeast. This is is deactivated yeast which has a cheesy taste. It contains protein and is a significant source of B-vitamins.

3. Plant based milks, almond, soya

, oat. You can put these in your coffee, smoothies and cereals.
